How to tell if a article is worthy to put in the news paper.

When an event happens and if it’s important, a journalist will write about it and put it in the newspaper. The main decision is if the article is worthy enough to be published to the public.
Lets think of its. First the event should be interesting and not the everyday thing. For example, it should not be about how a dog got run over and have over 1000 words written.
Secondly, the article should be well written and address who, what, where, when and why. Not just have what happened and just state something that the person thinks.
Thirdly, make sure that it is informative about what really happened.  The article should have information and facts that are true and important. No things made up are necessary in a newspaper.

A new car has been released, “The Ezio 9000”. It is the most powerful car in the world with an astonishing HP of 2450. It is known to go over 480MPH; The Ezio 9000 is unstoppable. Created by the well-known carmaker, Pie Is Good. Inc. The car is powered by water and electricity, so you don’t have to spend money on gas.

Everyone knows that a very fast car is very hard tot control. The Ezio 9000 has great control and can turn on a dime. It is designed to be fast and controllable at the same time.
Since such a small amount has been made, the purchaser must go to Pie Is Good Inc. and preorder one. The car takes a long time to make, and will range from 4 to 6 months of waiting for the buyer.

Comic Meaning

From this comic, we need to learn not to be stupid when someone reports you for a magazine, article, and/or  TV episode. Never say what you will regret and always think twice on what you do. Something you say now, may get you in a deep ditch later.
Many cerleberties do the that mistake many times. For example, Charlie Sheen's interview with Katie Couric, he said things that he shouldn't have said. Now many people think he is crazy and needs to be in a mental hospital.
This comic has a very important meaning and should be recognized by others. Do not say anything without thinking twice when you talk to a reporter. Or you will regret it.

Eminem is a modern day rapper. He raps about many subjects ranging from how he loves his daughters to how he wants to kill his ex wife, Kim. Many people would agree with me that Eminem is the king of rap and Hip-Hop! I personally have 258 songs either written or featuring him. Eminem had many names during his life. He used Slim Shady as his alter ego through out the albums Slim Shady LP, Infinity, Encore, and Just Lose It. Many people of his true friends still call him “Slim”. Eminem’s real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, living there with his mother. He was bullied, abused and had many additions to drugs through out his teen years. Marshall puts many of his life stories into his raps. For example the song “My Mom”, it explains to the fans about how his mother did drugs, abused him, and “fooled around” with random men. Yet some of his raps send messages. Personally, my favorite song that he sends a subliminal message is “Same Song And Dance”. He sings about many women who need to stop acting like “Sluts” because it will end up “badly” for them. Eminem is my favorite music artist because every song he puts out makes me laugh and/or has an emotional impact to my life.

A Lie Goes Far

People say that "A lie goes all the way around the world before the truth has a chance to put its pants on". His happens all the time! It means that a rumor can be made, be spread and twisted by people, and the real truth is not coming out.
For example, Kim has a rumor spread about her in school. People gossip and mix up the true story to make conversation. By the time Kim hears about the story, half the school already knows.
Now the problem is; how is Kim going to get the truth out? So many people have heard about the rumor, Kim is going to have to go out of her way to fix everything. Now no one actually believes anything because the story is so mixed up that she could just be another person trying to make conversation.
This just shows that people can take the truth, screw with it so much, that the real truth cannot fix anything.

Breach of Ethics

A breach of ethics can happen anytime in everyday life. Sometimes you have no clue it's happening. For example, if a judge picks a side before a case starts, it’s unfair and not right!
If I was a judge and there was a case about the rapper Eminem, killed his ex wife, Kim, I would pick Eminem’s side because I like him. BUT that is a breach of ethics and I would never actually do that. I want to help out my all time favorite rapper, but I cannot because it is unfair to Kim who was murdered.
I am that type of person who picks a side before anything is said. I would breach the rules of ethics, but yet again, that’s why I would make a terrible judge.

Japanese disaster that changed the world

An event that changed the world was the Japanese’s earthquake. It killed thousands of men, women and children. Just when people thought it cant get any worse, it does. The earthquake cause a tsunami that washed out many major cities like Tokyo. Plus nuclear reactors exploded during the floods.

It all started off with an earthquake rumbling the streets of Tokyo on Friday, 11 March 2011 at 5:11am. People where very clouded and over 25,000 people were found dead in the rubble. Over 200,000 buildings were destroyed and/or damaged. The earthquake only killed about 300 people; it was the natural disaster that happens next that kills the thousands of people.

The magnitude-8.9 offshore quake unleashed a seven-meter tsunami and was followed by more than 50 aftershocks for hours, many of them of more than magnitude 6.0. The tsunami washed out many people from their homes and towns. The death toll rose quickly once it hit Japan.

As the tsunami stopped, one of Japans nuclear power plants reactors start having problems. There were leaks of acid seeping out of the reactors. Many people feared that acid rain would fall and burn their skin. Lucky there wasn’t many things that resulted to the acid leaks and explosions.

The Japanese earthquake caused many problems for Japan. Many people have died and lost loved ones. The world is still recovering from this disaster.

Internet as a right?

I think that using the Internet is a human right. When it comes to studying, reading and receiving information, internet is the same thing as a pubic library. For example if I have to do a report on America’s history for school, instead of going to the library, I can surf the Internet on my computer and get my resources and information.
Many companies rely on the Internet to make money. If the government makes using the Internet for public uses illegal, the whole country will suffer. Many billion dollar companies make/use technology that involves access to the Internet. Apple Inc. products all can somehow access the World Wide Web, and if that feature is removed, many people will stop purchasing of the Mac’s. The website Amazon.com basically runs off the Internet. People make orders on the website that are sent through the Internet into an Amazon Warehouse and have the purchases item shipped to the costumer.
I truly think that the use of Internet for the public is a human right and that if the government changes that, many things will change.

Unethical Headlines

This headline about Dick Cheney being a robot is completely false. This is what I call an unethical article. Unethical articles are not true and mostly made up by the writer.
I understand having an article that is “somewhat” false to make a story interesting, but over doing it like that is just stupid. Why would anyone believe that the Vise President of the United States is a robot?
A real journalist creates an article that is mostly true and makes it interesting off of their skill, not living in “Imagination Land”.

Cat Found

A cat named Willow was found 5 years later after the owner reported he was missing. Lucky for they owner, they implanted a microchip into his body. The cat has traveled 1,800 miles from Colorado to New York City. She had been taken by "CatNappers"as they did a drive by and saw her sitten on front porch. They came up from behind and snatched Willow up and put a blind fold over her eyes. They dragged her into their van and looked the door shut. Minutes has past when the owner noticed the cat was gone. She saw the van with screaming coming out of it. She ran toward it, but the driver noticed and started to drive away.

Years have past and the owner has been looking for the cat ever since. She has posted fliers, internet ads, ect, to try to find this cat. A person in New York City had found and took the cat to the vet to find its owner. She was hoping there was a chip inside the cat, and lucky for her and the owner, there was! 5 years of hard work trying to find the cat was finally put to end, now the owner is trying to find and put an end to "The CatNappers"once and for all.

Steve Jobs Dead

The Apple founder, Steve Jobs, died on Oct 5, 2011. Apple has not announced where he was found dead; but the cause was because of He was a very smart man who changed the world with his company. If it wasn't for him, many lives, jobs, and families would be changed.  Apple has made and sold millions of electronics to the families of the United States and other countries. People can entertain themselves, talk with friends over the computer, and create projects. The Mac computer series have assisted many businessmen in their jobs. Some couples have even met over Macs by online chatting. Its amazing just to think about how much the world would be changed if Steve Jobs never started Apple.

Cancer

Cancer Has a Cure
By Nikita Doskochynskyy

Scientist just found a cure for cancer yesterday at 3:37 PM! In the vast research laps of Washington DC, scientists have spent years trying to find a cause, a medication, or a treatment to finally end the war on cancer. The way it works is having microscopic mechanical cells that are injected into a person’s body and they zap and kill any cancer cells they find. It takes a minimum of 5-6 months to have all the cancer removed from a person’s body. Finally the wait and struggle with cancer is finally over.
All the cancer will be removed in time, but it might come back. Scientist are trying to get around this problem, but are having a lot of struggle on not accidentally having other cells of the body get killed. For now they recommend just taking the treatment again if the cancer does come back.

Journalist Heroes?

Since Watergate, journalist stopped taking part of conspiracy of silence. Before things that would be to embarrassing for the government wouldn't be reported, now everything that happens is heard. I think that Journalist are heroes because they report things that the public need to know for their own good. If it wasn't for journalist people wouldn't know whats going on in the world and have no clue what they are doing. For    example, if an election was taken place and one of the electives did evil things in the past, it is up the reports to let the public know. If they didn't, the U.S government could have a villain in charge. I truly think that journalist are heroes and should be respected for their hard work.

What Does It Mean?

Hot topic made a statement that referred to journalism. They said "Journalism's major problem nowadays is that it's too detached from the overall society". To me it means that people are to detached from reading and writing. I think that its true because i would always chose watching a Youtube video about news instead of having to search, find and read an article. People now are lazy and want to spend the time and read something. I think that the statement is 100% true and that people are starting to rely on the TV or other video to find News.

2011 8th Grade Journal 1

Hurricane Irene did a lot of damage to many homes. Lucky for us, no one in my family had any trouble. The only thing that happened was a little water in the basement of my house. We had running water the whole time and no power outages happened.
The worst thing that happened was 2 inches of water in the basement. I had to take a mop at 1 o'clock in the morning and go clean up the water. My parents didn't even help me clean; they just sat upstairs watching the news. I realized that the water wasn't going away, it just kept coming through the cracks in the walls. I had to call my father and tell him that he needs to fix it. He looked and looked until he opened a door and saw that the water didn't go into the water pump. He had to make a hole into the wall to have water flow into the pump instead of the floor, and in no time, everything was fixed.
I went to bed at 4 in the morning. I used the Hurricane as an excuse to stay up late. Most of the time I was on Facebook and Skype.
The hurricane wasn't as bad as I thought and I am very thankful that there was no real problems that would damage the whole house.

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey has been through a lot in her life and I respect that, but I do not think that she is the most influential woman in the world. For me, it takes many people and stories to convince me of something. Other people might be different; maybe it could take one opinion and one fact to change someone else’s mind.
Everyone has their ways of thinking and ways of comparison too. For example, I have friends that compare their life to songs and tell other people about. They do that to show their emotions. Others might just relate how their life is the same with a well known person’s life. That’s probably what Oprah fans are doing, they think that their life is her life, and that’s why they think she’s so influential. I don’t really think that one person could have that much change to the world, but everyone has their own story.

End of the world, 1,000,000,000 years early?

Today is May 24, 2011 and I am still living, breathing, and enjoying my life. Wasn’t the world supposed to end on Judgment Day May 21, 2011, what happened? There are thousands of explanations. Truly my favorite is all the humans are dead, but just are living in a heaven and have no idea about it. The most logical idea to me is that “Judgment Day” is over 1 billion years late. I do not think that the world is going to explode into a million pieces any time soon, but one day it will. Everything has an expiration date, even the world, but it is a massive, powerful, and wondrous object. It can just explode without showing any signs. I am not disagreeing that the world will end, but I am disagreeing that it will any time soon.

That "OK" Button

Some journalists do not think about what they write. Yet we all do the same thing, either on something as small as a Facebook, or something as important as a speech on live Television. We all make mistakes that we don’t notice until someone sticks our noses in it. There is always that one person that says “Oh that’s racist, I’m offended, I’m going to make a lot of noise and give this person living hell because he posted something I don’t like.” When someone does that to me I would say “No one made you read it”. For example, my father went hunting. He brought home a dear and wanted me to make sure that he skins the dear right. So being myself, I always go to YouTube for my source of information. I search “how to skin a dear”, and all of these videos come up. I click on one and just as I scroll down to the comments, I see so many people have stated “Oh this is cruel” or “I can’t believe I’m watching this, this is horrible to do”. First of all, if they think that it’s cruel why did they search it, why did they click on the video, why did they spend time to watch the video? Again back to my statement, “No one made you watch the video”. I call these people “Trolls”, they just search the internet for something that they could comment negatively one. I truly think that everyone should just shut up, and if they don’t like a post, keep it to them selves because someday, that post will be important to somebody. Anyone has the right to say anything and I think that they should press that “OK” button without worrying if it would offended anyone

Omg that was a big journal…….

The Future

‘Cyclus’ is one of the solutions for the power generating without causing a lot of pollution and gas use. It’s what we call ‘green energy’ and can charge things from batteries, cell phones, computers, est. We still really don’t know how the Cyclus going to create energy, but Scientists, engineers, and the government hopes that they could get this project out in 2016. People are really counting on this to help them charge their electronics on the go. I would use the Cyclus a lot myself because I always have my iPod die because I never charge it. Same thing with my phone, it dies because I don’t charge it and when I need to call someone it has no battery. Hopefully this invention will be out in 2016 because I cant stand when my electronics run out of battery when I need it.

My Name is Nikita Doskochynskyy and my birthday is the same as Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen Lee DeGeneres was born January 26, 1958 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the daughter of an insurance salesman and a working mother who were divorced when DeGeneres was a teenager. When she was growing up she dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, but she gave up the idea because she was "not book smart." Instead, she waited tables, sold vacuum cleaners, painted houses, worked as a legal secretary. DeGeneres finally found success as an actress with her own prime-time sitcom, the self-titled television series, Ellen. Her TV show is a little like Ophra. The show faced strong criticism when, in April 1997, DeGeneres' character became the first lead in sitcom history to openly acknowledge her homosexuality on air. An ABC affiliate in Birmingham, Alabama, refused to air the landmark episode. Some of the show's sponsors, Daimler Chrysler among them, withdrew advertisements. Ellen Degeneres has had a strange life and is a wonderful person. It is an honor to have the same birthday as her.

Pictures Of Osama

Recently Osama Bin Laden has been shot and killed by the U.S Navy Seals. We all know who Osama is and what he did. The man killed thousands of people with loving friends and family. Just imagine how it feels to lose someone because of some person that had a “brilliant” idea to bomb the Twin Towers. What if your family member went inside of the burning building trying to save people and then get killed by a building collapsing over top of them? The thought that the person who killed your father in 9-11 is hiding for the past 10 years and still isn’t caught is horrible. The pain, the sorrow, the depression is all tremendous. Now finally the person who did this entire catastrophe is dead and President Obama doesn’t want to show pictures that tell the world that his evil man is dead. I think that he should show the pictures and let the public deal with it. If some citizens don’t want to see the pictures, they shouldn’t ruin it for others who feel hatred to Osama. If someone doesn’t want to see the pictures, don’t watch TV during the time they show it, don’t Google search it, and don’t talk about it. It’s that easy, if one doesn’t want to see the pictures then don’t bother looking for them.

What if Osama Bin Laden isn’t dead and paid the Navy Seals to say that they did shoot him. What if Osama Bin Laden just got a dead man who had plastic surgery to look like him, and lie on the ground and put a bullet through his head? The pictures can also be used as evidence that the real Osama is dead.

I think the Obama should put the pictures out to the public and let the people decide if they want to see them or not.

MICKY D'S

When McDonalds hired 50,000 thousand people, it was a good thing. The economy was bad and McDonalds gave it a brake. People got jobs, mostly adults and experienced workers. Any manager would hire a professional chief who worked in a 5 star restaurant instead of a teen who just has experience for cutting the lawn. The teenagers who are looking for jobs to start their life suffered. McDonalds is a job for teens, its easy, doesn’t require much experience and pays a decent salary. Teenagers need these jobs to start off their life. When a person who has 300$ in the bank tries to make a business, they wouldn’t get too far. But if a person who had a job in there childhood and saved the money had 10,000, they are most likely to have a small business. That’s how my father started his life. When he was 16 he had simple jobs and slowly saved up. His very first job was to assist a farmer with tractors, and as he went to work, he would carry a rifle to shoot groundhogs that are digging under the barns. At 25 years old he saved enough money to start a small machine shop. The past 30 years that machine shop grew and turned into a successful business. My father started in a 25 foot, by 25 room building. Now he’s employing people in three massive buildings. All this started off because he had a simple job. Now when the teenagers need a simple job, adults have taken it. I do not think it was a good idea, and ruined a couple kids future.

Not Being Selffish

Someone who did something unselfish was Mr.Mazz. He went to Haiti during his vacation and donated his help and other items of his own. Mr.Mazz took the risk of getting a disease, getting jacked or even dying of heat stroke. Mr.Mazz gave away all of his belongings be brought to Haiti, and left with nothing but the clothes on his back. During the time I was in sixth grade, Mr.Mazz held a fundraiser. He sold so many of his things from his troll collection. I think he made over 3000 dollars, and donated it all to Haiti.
He spent his time working with children in the hot sun. Still willing to give, Mr.Mazz has is a really nice person. He gives more to others then himself.

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

To add people’s opinions into my writing, I would say what they think. After adding my thoughts, I would add some statements other people have said. Maybe I could add some actions they did, and talk about it. But I truly never put other people’s thoughts in my writing. If I write something, it’s going to be mostly about me; unless I was told to write about others.

yearbooks is journalism

Yearbooks are filled with memories; friends, teachers, events, and maybe family. Journalism is in yearbooks too. Year books could talk about events that happened during the school year that was very interesting. For example, Mr.Mazz went to Haiti during the summer. The pictures that he took went into the yearbook. The Haiti earthquake was all over the news for months. Here we have pictures of a situation, memory and history. The year book is just like a paper, just memories.

How has writing changed

Journalism has changed a lot during these years. In 1990 people used the news paper to get information about the news. They would have to go to a store or have a person deliver a paper to them. Then actually go through pages and look for the article you want to read. Now-a-days, most people go on the internet and search the topic they want to read about. Instantly the article pops up talking about the news. Plus some people go on the news paper’s website and read off of that information. Sometimes a person can get information faster on the internet then a real news paper. The articles could be up only faster then actually printing and selling the news paper on the street.
Now everyone is so crazy about being green, this paragraph is for them. Putting articles on the internet can save trees. Probably why a lot of people are now going to the internet for news is because they don’t want a tree to be cut down. Plus all the ink that is being used to print plus all the gas that is used to deliver the paper to people. All of that isn’t “eco-friendly” and putting the news paper on the internet is “eco-friendly”.
Journalism changed a lot the past years, mostly because it’s faster and eco-friendly.

Fair Judge

To me a fair judge is honest and doesn’t have his beliefs or racism in the way of the law. Some people do that, but judges shouldn’t. It is natural for the human body to be a little racist or have some hatred toward others. Judges should have to over come those feelings. Instead of thinking that this person is_______, they probably murdered the girl. What if that person really didn’t kill anyone and the true murderer has just walked out the door because a civilian was pronounced guilty. A fair judge should stick to the law and see who is most likely to be the criminal. A fair judge is not racist.

Is radiation good?

Apparently Ann Coulter thinks the radiation is good.  What I have to say about this, she’s crazy. How is radiation good for you? It was said by scientist that it doesn’t do any thing good to you it gives people cancer and it can even lead there children to have birth affects. I myself have seen what radiation can do to someone. I am Russian, my family lived near Chernobyl, and most members have died from the radiation. Some are still living, but have blood red eyes that don’t work at all. They look like a zombie. I remember seeing my great aunt, her eyes did not open, she was blind and had yellow skin. Radiation is not good for you. It never is, what ever Ann said, its just bull. She probably never ever had seen what radiation can do to someone. This just makes me mad, 75% of my family had died from radiation, and she’s sitting here saying that it’s good for her. Why don’t we just send her butt to Japan?

St.Patricks day Racist?

I don’t think St. Patrick day is racist. When I first saw this journal, I thought to myself, “how is it racist”. Just because America took the holiday in, doesn’t mean that it is offensive to all the people. Why cause drama over some people who just think that St. Patrick’s Day is 100% racist to be in America. A lot of people dress up and enjoy the holiday; they don’t walk around and say that Irish people are ugly, stupid, or drunks. Its like the same thing as Christmas, someone celebrate it and enjoy themselves. But others would have another belief. St. Patrick is not racist, its just a small group making a lot of noise saying it is.

Is it ethical To Act Without Saying

When a commercial is made, a director pays actors to lay in it. When a commercial for an opinion on how the public feels about a political view, the director pays an actor, and says that there were actors paid. It isn’t ethical to not say that there were actors paid. For example if there is a riot because a store doesn’t pay enough to its workers. But someone makes a statement and says that the store is too expensive to shop at. That person makes a commercial and pays 50 people to walk outside of a building and yell that the store is too expensive. People would believe that.  People these days look for someone to say something and then they follow that person; even if it isn’t true. Not saying that the actor was paid is not ethical because it makes rumors that aren’t true.

Thursday, March 3, 2011

I think that going to someone’s funeral and protest is okay, as long as you have a reason to. For example, if a person did horrible things during his life, people should have the right to show how they fell about that person. Another example is if a famous a person died, and during his life he tortured animals but the citizens couldn’t show how they felt. The civilians could just go to the famous person’s funeral and show how they felt about the way he treated animals. The sons, mother, father, wife could see have badly the man really was. Protesting at a funeral is okay, it’s the 1st amendment.

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

I think that Tennessee is violating the first amendment. First of all, they just passed the law where no one could say “gay” or “homo”. The reason why they passed this law is because apparently they think that if you say “gay” once, the people will immediately turn “gay”. Do you really think that is going to happen? No. That right there just mocks the freedom of speech. Secondly, in Tennessee, schools are now required to teach that the world was made by god in 7 days. That is Christian, there are other religions either then Christianity. I think that Tennessee needs to calm down and stop making dumb laws.
